Heather and I have lived in Colorado since 1981. We moved here from Southern California for a better quality of life. We lived in Manitou Springs for over 20 years and then moved to a home in the Black Forest in 2001. We lived on 14+ acres in the forest and it suited us. It was generally very quite and we could see the stars at night. As we got older and somewhat afraid that our well would dry up, we decided to move to a house in Rockrimmon in 2019. We were happy there but then Heather got cancer and passed away in 2025. In 2026 I decided I needed to move to a smaller house so I bought this house in an area called Lower Skyway. I am now living there full time and the Rockrimmon house is being put up for sale. These are pictures of the new house while I am moving in. What a job moving is. I hope to never have to do it again.

This is the start of a new phase of my life.

The front of my house. It is an odd house but that is why I like it. Odd like me I guess.

Entry way

Door on left is the front door.
Door on right is the door to the garage.

There are three steps up from the entry way to the main level of the house. As you can see I have started to decorate.

This is the main level living room

Next to it is the dining room

A view from the living room into the kitchen.

Another view of the kitchen. I have lots of nice cabinets and all quartz counter tops.

Another view of the kitchen. I have a gas stove.

This is the view from the living room area down the hall to the guest bathroom and the master bedroom.

This is the master bedroom.
Sorry I didn't make my bed before I took this picture but hey, I am still moving in.

Another view of the master bedroom. As you can see it is not all setup yet.

This is the hallway from the master bedroom to the master bathroom.

A view of the master bathroom. It is really quite big. There are two sinks but you cannot see the other one.

The master bathroom has a small shower and a large tub. There is a rug in the tub now until I find a place for it.

This is the main level deck. It is small but usable. It is always in the sun and gets real hot so I am thinking of some kind of fabric sail like covering so I can sit out there on sunny days.

The blue furniture was left by the previous resident. I don't know if I will keep it or not.

This is the stairway from the main level to the balcony. I put a guitar on the stairway because I play in the balcony alcove above but it is too sunny and hot for the guitar to be placed there.

These are the steps down to the lower or basement level.

This is the balcony alcove. I plan to put a lot of plants in there because it is very sunny.

Here is the upper deck which I hope to spend a lot of time on.

There is a broken hot tube which I will eventually remove. I have seating for at least six and a fire pit.

Another view

View down the stairs from the balcony alcove to the main level.

This is the basement's big room. It is just piled with misc furniture now some of which I will be getting rid of because there is just too much of it.

I plan on having all of the furniture I made in this room.

The big room has a big built in bookcase

And I brought over another bookcase just in case

Here is a view of the hallway from the big room toward the studio, bathroom, laundry room and the guest room. My Dad's radio cabinet is on the left. I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it in the move.

Heather's Dad's sailor's valentines are on the left.

The door on the left is a closet which is to become my alcohol storage room. Every house needs one.

You can see the base of the stairs going up to the main level.

Here is the opposite view down the basement hallway from the guestroom to the big room.

The basement has a rather nice big bathroom

And a big closet

The basement laundry room is good size as well.

A view into my studio where I will make my music. Still a mess but a work in progress.

Another view of the studio

This room will be a guest room at some point

The guest room has a large closet

I have a wonderful, private backyard. I brought over a lot of rocks and garden ornaments from the Rockrimmon house and they fit in perfectly.

Another backyard view

And another.

I believe the tree is a red bud which will turn completely red in the fall.
